I DECIDE - Prashno-uttaram

With Bindhu In my dance class, my guru brought in a perspective that I felt for worth bringing to the SDL Session: In the ancient system, teaching was through a questions and answer system (Prashno-uttaram).

The student asks a question and the teacher (guru) replies asking the question “What do you think?” Gradually, step-by-step, asking a series of questions, the student is led to the answer. This is believed to be the sure-shot method of seeing the light of what the student already knows. The guru believes that the answers are latent within us and it is only his duty to show the light to make the child see it.

For me, this seemed like a summary of session 1 where we start off with the trust that the child is capable. Sharing here because it was fascinating when she said this!
